n Architecture Inc. has been retained to design and produce construction documentation for the proposed restaurant and commercial development in Courtice. The proposed development is located in the heart of Courtice in the Automall District. It consists of a Starbucks restaurant and other prominent restaurant outlets on the first floor and offices on the second floor. The main design feature of the proposed development are the two towers, which gives the development a unique massing. This massing coupled with the utilization of high quality materials enhances the aesthetic appeal of the development.
The design of the Starbucks restaurant incorporates an outdoor patio adjacent to Spicer Square road. This feature would be utilized during the summer months as Starbucks customers enjoy the bright and pleasant outdoor summer weather. Also, the restaurant on the first floor incorporates active frontages on Spicer Square road, providing vital pedestrian connections between the public sidewalk and the proposed development. There is also sufficient onsite parking to cater for the parking needs of occupants and visitors.
Without a doubt, the proposed development enhances the aesthetic appeal of the public realm on Spicer Square road while contributing to the overall urban sustainability of the area, as the development services the residential properties to the north and the adjacent hotel development. Watch out for more information on this development.
