The proposed Gas Station site in Coboconk, was designed for our Client Mr Hardeep Grewal.
The site lays on the intersection of Highway 35 and Grandy Rd. It is on the northern tip of Balsam Lake; the home to Canada’s Fresh Water Summit, which is the highest elevation of navigable water in Canada and third highest in the world.
The area of the site is 0.308 acres. The project consists of 3 main elements: Shell Gas Station, Shell Convenience Store, and Tim Horton’s Café. The design of the proposed C-Store and Coffee Shop was designed to have an alternating vibe of modernity and local architecture.
The volume’s cladding merges this sense through the integration of stone with Hardie Boards & Panels and at the same time the diversity in the colour palette used in the façade was to show both Shell and Tim Horton’s graphical identity. n Architecture Inc. worked on the design of this project to reach a harmonious design satisfying both companies’ desired theme.
The Shell branding was presented in white and yellow, the Tim Horton’s trade mark emphasized on the signage has a contrasting background that pops it out to the eye of the viewer. The geometrical composition of the structure reflects the functionality of the volume as the entrance cuts through a glass aisle joining the C-Store and the Coffee Shop.
