The proposed Mansion is located in Whitchurch-Stoufville, Ontario. The site lays on the intersection of Davis Drive and Kennedy Rd. It is on the Southern tip of Simcoe Lake; the fourth-largest lake wholly in the province, after Lake Nipigon, Lac Seul, and Lake Nipissing.
This new residence was planned meticulously because part of the subject property is regulated by the Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority and all proposed works had to be approved by the LSCA.
The concept of the house is based on the physical features of the site. It is laid in the blossom of the Cedar Valley Forest. The View and the composition of the existing natural components were the key elements of the design process.
The total Ground Floor Area is approximately 19,000 sq ft. The Mansion is a 2-storey single family residence. It consists of a Basement which includes a Family Room, a Studio, Mechanical and Electrical rooms and a Walk-in Cooler and Freezer. The main floor amenities include a pool room, in-law suite, office, library, gym, home theatre, dining room, kitchen, and 4-5 car garages. The second floor includes a master bedroom and 6 bedrooms.
Through the design, n Architecture Inc. aims to conserve the site components and emphasize on its charming nature and View. Consequently, the layout of the mansion is composed of 2 side wings joined by the main volume at different angles in different perspective views. The Visitor’s experience starting from the entry to the site provides a sense of openness to nature as the mansion is hidden along the approach and then appears on the side gradually in a visual harmony with nature.
